The DGT launches the “Electronic workshop book” site

A website with the most reliable car workshops in Spain is launched by the DGT
A new website has been launched, the Electronic Workshop Book, developed by the Spanish Confederation of Automotive and Related Repair Workshops (CETRAA).
In collaboration with the Direction Générale de la Circulation (DGT), they have built this platform which allows workshops to register with the Circulation all the maintenance and repair actions carried out on the safety systems of a vehicle.
It also offers an interactive map, including a thousand associated workshops distributed throughout Spain, so that those interested can consult the data of the participating establishments.
By clicking on it, a window opens with the name and address of the workshop, the telephone number, its email, and a file which in itself offers all the guarantees to the consumer by being part of the Book Workshop project.
The ultimate goal of the site is to increase the transparency of the used vehicle market in Spain. Each time a vehicle passes through these associated workshops, the establishment will record the work carried out.
From there, the data will be sent to Traffic and anyone can find out their full service history by requesting a vehicle report from DGT.
By recording data as revealing as the mileage of the vehicle, we avoid possible manipulation of the odometers – one of the most denounced practices in this type of transaction -, as reported diariosur.es.
